Many people think good economic policy and protecting the environment are at odds. Some believe that the environmental movement wants to take away our wealth and destroy what we have built. Others believe that applying strict economic policy will destroy our planet.

I believe that it is the failure to apply economic principles in full that has led us to the current crisis in which the future of the world seems to be at risk. I believe that we live in a sub-optimal world and that by understanding the processes that lead to environmental degradation and by applying economic theory fully we can reach a higher economic optimum and avoid catastrophe.  We can then move from the age of exploitation to the age of intelligence.
